National Park Vacations

The United States has at least one national park in nearly every state of the union. (Delaware is the lone state with no national park but it does have national monuments.)  With that many parks, now is a great time plan your next visit.  Call one of our knowledgeable agents to help you plan your next National Park vacation or fill out this Quick Form and we'll get back to you with the information you request!

A Park for Every Interest

We all know about the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park, or even Yosemite in California.  These are all great parks to visit.  But have you ever been to the Dry Tortugas?  It is the southernmost park in the United States and has excellent snorkeling and an old fort with an interesting history.  How about visiting Independence Hall in Philadelphia?  Did you know that was a national park?  It doesn’t matter if you like history, hiking or snorkeling, there is something for everyone in our national parks.  Find a list of them on the National Park Service website

Find a Great Photo Op

You can take countless pictures of national parks.  The scenery is spectacular and its history is personal.  You don’t have to be a professional photographer to get an amazing photo that will be yours to view for years to come.

Explore the Great Outdoors

National parks have thousands of miles of hiking trails suitable for the beginning hiker to the advanced backpacker.  You can relax as you watch for wildlife or take a soothing bath in their thermal waters.  According to a study in Science Daily, spending time outside can make us healthier and boost our immune system.  Who knew that visiting a park could make us feel better?

Explore Our Nation’s History

Did you know you can stay at a historic lodge in many of our national parks?  Old Faithful Inn (1904), Zion Lodge (1925), or Asticou Inn (1883) just to name a few that will allow you to step back in time when you visit a national park.  If staying at a historic lodge is not for you, how abut visiting a Civil War battlefield like Gettysburg or a southern city like Savannah, Georgia to really learn the history of our nation first hand.  There are tours that will give you access to these great sites and more.

Learn Something New

Whether you are 6 or 60+, you can always learn something new at our national parks.  If you choose to tour with a professional guide, they’ll find something you don’t know.  Many parks have rangers that do tours and some offer classes ranging from fly-fishing to natural history.  The National Park Service has a calendar you can use to see what events are being offered at each park.

Touring Options

When it comes to touring, you can do a self-drive, but I find the driver doesn’t get to enjoy the trip as much as the passengers.  However, you do have rail options and escorted tour options that will make your trip perfect. Our advisors can help you select just the right option for you.

Escorted Tours

Several companies offer escorted tours.  Here is some information about a few trusted vendors - Insight, Globus & Collette.  Give one of our agents a call to learn more and get a free quote.  If you see another company you like better, let us know and we’ll check that one out too!

 Rail Tours

I’ve worked with several rail companies that offer great trips.  Here are three that stand out - Rocky Mountaineer, Grand Canyon Railway, and the Alaska Railroad.  We can also book Yankee Holidays, Amtrak, and RailBookers, vendors that will allow you to customize your rail vacation to any part of the United States (or Canada).
